Improving health and wellbeing for seniors

Why It Matters According to The Hub, the number of seniors in Canada has grown from 3.99-million in 2002 to 7.34-million in 2022, or an increase of 84%. They go on to report that, over the next 20 years, the number of seniors 65+ in Canada is projected to reach 10.93-million by 2042 and 14-million by 2062. Health care systems across Canada are generally not built to accommodate current needs, let alone the projected growth of an aging population.

What We Do To promote the health and wellbeing of seniors in Ontario, Health Commons is building a body of work
focused on enhancing health and wellbeing through access to care, aging in place, social connection, and system integration. Currently, our focus is on the Neighbours Project. If you are supporting seniors’ in the North York or Downtown East areas of Toronto and have an idea for a potential partnership, we would love to hear from you!
